Customer charter
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council is committed to providing the users of the service and the Citizens of the Borough with a timely and professional service in line with the following standards.
Advice
- We will provide free pre-application advice acting as an integral part of the design team.
- Pre-application consultations and guidance on Building Regulations.
Public Safety
- We will respond urgently to reports of dangerous structures.
- We will use the powers of the Building Act to control demolition works in the Borough
Building Regulations
- We aim to acknowledge receipt and validate all applications within two working days
- We aim to check applications within 10 working days.
- We accept LABC schemes such as LANTAC and Partner Authority.
- Will provide a same day inspection
- We issue completion certificates for all works which have been fully inspected and approved.
- We make full use of stage or conditional approvals on agreed projects.
- Operate a Quality Management System in accordance with the ISO 9001.
